Nelson Hultberg is a freelance writer in Dallas, TX, a graduate of Beloit College in Wisconsin, and the Executive Director of Americans for a Free Republic. His articles have appeared in publications such as The Dallas Morning News, the San Antonio Express-News, The American Conservative, Insight, The Freeman, Liberty, and on numerous websites such as The Daily Bell, Right Side News, and Financial Sense. He is the author of The Golden Mean: Libertarian Politics, Conservative Values (2013), Breaking the Demopublican Monopoly (2007), and Why We Must End the Income Tax and the IRS (1995). Prior to his formation of AFR in 2005, he worked extensively in big project promotional sales – real estate and advertising in Las Vegas and San Diego during the 1970s and 1980s. For several years in the 1990s, he worked with Citizens for an Alternative Tax System (C.A.T.S.) out of Washington, D.C. promoting repeal of the federal income tax. In 1998, he was featured along with Congressmen Bill Archer, Dick Armey, and Billy Tauzin in Texas Business magazine as one of Texas’ leading tax reformers (“Texas Tea Party,” May-June 1998).


Victor Sperandeo serves as the President of Americans for a Free Republic, and is also the CEO of Alpha Financial Technologies (AFT) in Dallas. A graduate of Queens College in New York, he has over 45 years’ Wall Street experience, particularly in the energy and metals sectors. He was instrumental in developing futures-based indexes and methodologies such as the Diversified Trends Indicator® and the Financial Trends Indicator®. Licensees of AFT’s indexes include Guggenheim, Direxion, RBS, Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, and others. He is the author of three books: Trader Vic – Methods of a Wall Street Master, Trader Vic II – Principles of Professional Speculation, and Trader Vic on Commodities: What’s Unknown, Misunderstood, and Too Good To Be True. He was inducted into the Trader Hall of Fame by Trader Magazine in 2008, and has been twice profiled in Barron’s: “Man of all Markets”, May 2, 1983, and “Trader Vic the Ultimate Wall Street Pro”, September 21, 1987. He has written articles and editorials for dozens of publications, such as The Wall Street Journal and Stocks & Commodities, in addition to appearing on financial programs on CNBC, CNN, Fox and other networks.


Frank Baumgartner is the owner and CEO of Osiris Gold Inc. in Denver, Colorado and the Vice-President of Americans for a Free Republic. For all of his adult life, he has been an exemplar of the entrepreneurial spirit that built this country, holding positions of ownership in several highly successful corporations, such as Phoenix Aviation Inc., XL Drilling Company Inc., and Jupiter Corporation. He was a legendary wildcatter in the oil business in his youth, right out of the Gable-Spencer mold in the movie, Boom Town. He served in the 25th Division Army Artillery during the Korean War. In 1965, he was a member of the famous Arnold Heim Geological Expedition to Greenland. A graduate of Clark University and a history buff for many decades, he is a staunch libertarian-conservative patriot who is naturally alarmed with the statist direction of America under the influence of Democrat and Republican political control. Semi-retired at this time, he has numerous investment interests in both the stock market and the precious metals fields. Free enterprise is in his DNA.
